Oswestry Balloon Carnival (OBC) Draw 2026 Rules

General Rules

1. OBC 2026 is open to all mainland Great Britain residents over the age of 18 (this excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and British Forces Post Office addresses according to the Gambling Act 2005 regulations)

2. Purchasing a ticket means you are confirming you are 18 years of age or over. No tickets should be sold to, or purchased on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.

3. A ticket unknowingly sold to, or purchased on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 18 he/she will be exempt from the draw and will forfeit his/her prize and their entry money will be returned to them.

4. Winners might be asked if they wish to take part in Nightingale House Hospice PR and promotional activity.

5. Nightingale House Hospice is registered with the Gambling Commission to operate the draw, under Nightingale House Lottery Limited, licence number 005112-N-304077-015 and ancillary remote licence 005112-A-330219-002

6. All proceeds from the draw will be used for the charitable purposes of Nightingale House Hospice.

 Rules

1. All online ticket entries must be received by Wednesday 19th August 2026 (23:59). All paper entries must be received by Sunday 23rd August 2026 (4pm)

2. Any money for tickets received after 4pm on the 23rd August 2026 will be treated as a donation and forwarded to Nightingale House Hospice.

3. Tickets will only be sold online via the link, physical paper tickets in Oswestry Nightingales Store and at the event, both days until 4pm on the 23rd August. 

4. The OBC Draw 2026 will take place on Sunday 23rd August at 5pm at Cae Glas Park, Oswestry. Winners will be notified by telephone, if not in attendance on the day of the draw. All winning draw numbers will be available on request on the day, or published on the OBC Facebook page. There are no alternatives to any prize and no interest is payable.

The terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law, and all parties are deemed to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. The Terms and Conditions assume that you have acted like a prudent individual. If you choose to participate in this competition without taking normal precautions, you do so at your own risk. Nightingale House Hospice does not offer any competitions in any jurisdiction where such an offer or solicitation is unlawful or would impose any unfulfilled registration, qualification, publication, or approval requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are not located in a jurisdiction where it is not unlawful for you to enter or participate in such competitions.

1. By purchasing an entry you agree to these terms and conditions. Any participation instructions form part of these terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions will be invalid. Nightingale House Hospice's decisions pursuant to these terms and conditions shall be final and binding.

2. You represent and agree that:
a. You are 18 years of age or over.
b. You are a resident of Great Britain.
c. You will not buy or purport to buy an entry in this raffle on behalf of anybody under the age of 18.
d. You will provide accurate entry information, including your name and personal address

3. You agree that you shall not be entitled to receive any prize if you are unable to substantiate to the Promoter your representations under paragraph 2.

4. Entry is open to all residents of the Great Britain.

5. Entry costs £1.00 per play, payable in advance. Entries may not be sold to or by anyone under 18 years of age. Each ticket represents one entry only.

6. Nightingale House Hospice may (without giving any reason or notice, at its absolute discretion) terminate or suspend the Draw.

7. The Oswestry Balloon Carnival Draw 2026 (OBC26) Raffle draw will be conducted on 23rd August at 4pm, or if this is not possible, on the next working day. The draw takes place with the winner being chosen by random by names being pulled out of a bucket. The results of the draw are final.

8. All winners will be notified by Telephone. A list of winning ticket numbers will be made available within 7 days of the draw on our facebook page, unless there are delays in contacting the winners, in which case the list will be made available as soon as the winners' names are finalised. There are no alternatives to any prize except where stated and no interest is payable.

9. Nightingale House Hospice reserves the right to substitute a prize for a prize of equivalent or greater value, or at its sole discretion, the cash value of a prize, if this is necessary for reasons beyond Nightingale House Hospice’s control.

10. Nightingale House Hospice would like you to gamble responsibly.
